It’s Gun Week in Tennessee with interested parties from all sides presenting their vision for a better Tennessee.
Here at the Safe Tennessee Project, we’re watching these bills closely.
While Rep. Micah Van Huss of Johnson City, the sponsor of the open carry bill, told News 2, “We might have to wait until we have a new governor to get some of this good Second Amendment legislation passed.” (legislation he told the Tennessean he was bringing to “uninfringe” [sic] our Second Amendment rights, not expand them) others on the Hill don’t share his views.
Gov. Bill Haslam and the Department of Safety and Homeland Security opposed the bill.
Thankfully, that bill failed in committee this Wednesday.
